The NNGHC is comprised of a group of people of various ages and backgrounds who have a common interest. That is our soft gaited horses. W e enjoy a wide variety of activities with each other and our horses. The club sponsors numerous group trail rides through out the year. We are fortunate in N. Nevada to have plenty of sunshine and a wide variety of locations to ride. The club also will hold clinics from time to time on a any horse related topic that someone wants to bring to the membership. The Club also will put on a show at date and location to be announced.
We welcome any one who loves horses to join our club. Remember there are two kinds of people in the world. Horse lovers and the other kind.

Jennifer Dawson , the supervisor for Washoe Lake State Park, was our guest speaker. She discussed many new improvements to the park, including a plan for pull-through sites for horse camping and increasing the parking area to more towards the west. They will also be upgrading the existing arena. The arena will be graded better and a 70% sand 30% D.G. mixture will be used for footing. They are looking to local clibs to help with labor and funding of this arena. Their cost to do the improvements is $5400. NASTR donated $1000 to help out. Also the rates are going up up the park. The State Parks has a $1,000,000 shortfall and they will have this amount taken out of their budgets next year. The parking fees will be increased from $4 to $5 pervehicle and the pay stations will be open more often. Also the yearl pass will increase from $50 tp $65. Or you can obtain a pass for $90 per year for all Nevada State Parks. The Senior pass will increase from $15 to $30. So if you need to get your passes do so quickly before the fees increase.
