PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE AUGUST 2010 .......

GREETINGS ALL, I aplogize for not posting a July message. I just did not have the time. As you may have already heard our July schooling show was great fun again this year. Thanks very much to Sue Davis and her team of volunteers that put this event together. The September show is not far off and I hope to see as many of our members there as possible. Either as participants or as volunteers. We have several that have already committed to helping out the day of the show , but we can always use more. We also have a fabulous team that has been working hard the past few weeks to put this show together. The official show premium should be ariving to everyone soon.

As is our usual practice, at the next general membership meeting we will be taking nominations for officers for the 2011 Board of Directors. I would like a moment and encourage you folks that have not served on this Board to consider volunteering your time. We are fortunate to belong to a really fun club. The people I have met and worled with in my time as club president have been terrific. But I will not be accepting any nominations to serve on the Board this time. It is important for any organization to have new ideas and leadership every so often , otherwise you can become stagnant. When I became club president we had no shows and had not held a clinic of any kind for sometime. Since then we now have 2 very popular shows, have held at least one clinic every season and have also had very successful trail trials. All of this was done through the volunteer efforts of club members and encouraged by a Board of Directors that was positive and willing to support these activities. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HARD WORK ON BEHALF OF THE CLUB !! I would really encourage anyone who has not served to give it some serious thought. This is an oppurtunity to take part in a organization that is open to all and dedicated to promoting gaited horses and good horsemanship at large.
